Puca Festival
Where Mid-Winter Magic Awakens:
The Púca Festival The Púca Festival is Ireland's authentic Halloween celebration, honoring the ancient Celtic tradition of Samhain in its original home of the Boyne Valley, County Meath. Running from October 29 to November 1, 2026, this spectacular four-day event marks the time when the veil between the living and the dead grows thin. The festivities are split between two historic hubs:
• Trim:
Home to Ireland's largest Anglo-Norman castle, Trim transforms into a lively stage for headline musical acts (such as The Coronas and Glen Hansard), sharp stand-up comedy, the spectacular Púca Procession, and the mesmerising Samhain Circus.
• Athboy:
Anchored by the ancient Hill of Ward (Tlachtga)—where Halloween rituals began over 2,000 years ago—Athboy hosts traditional fire ceremonies, foraging walks, storytelling, and rich cultural heritage tours.
